Personal Work
Tomas’ personal work is influenced by his upbringing as a shepherd, which fostered a strong connection with nature and nurtured his creativity. Today, he is recognized for his contributions to children's literature, focusing on themes of physical, mental, and emotional growth.
One of his notable works, MISSING: My Secret Guide to Happiness, was recently awarded Honorable Mention in the 2024 Purple Dragonfly Book Awards. The story chronicles Tomas’ search for wild Tedduski bears, some of the rarest, wisest, and funniest creatures still roaming the face of the Earth, whom he once encountered in the blueberry bushes of Czech forests. The book, which blends imagination and whimsical storytelling with deeper messages about nature, healing, and mindfulness, was inspired by Tomas’ personal experiences and interactions with the forest and its mysterious creatures.
Tomas is also the driving force behind Teddylandia, an indie publishing company that creates imaginative stories aimed at helping children navigate the complexities of modern life while fostering a balance between digital and natural worlds.
Tomas has been recognized for advocating mindfulness and the therapeutic power of nature, art, and creative storytelling, especially for children facing emotional challenges. Most of his personal work emphasizes the importance of reconnecting with nature and fostering peace and healing through outdoor play, active imagination, and creative expression.
His most recent project, Living With Teddy, centers around the therapeutic power of teddy bears for both children and adults. Tomas uses his platform to advocate for mental health awareness, environmental awareness, and the need for deeper care for our planet.

Beyond his literary contributions, Tomas continues to play a role in various artistic and scientific communities as a creative director, photographer, and illustrator. He has collaborated with Korean Skincare company Innisfree on various interior photography projects, and he’s an active contributor of illustration, photography, and vector graphics to iStock and Shutterstock libraries.
